OUR SPECIAL YOUTH

We are so proud of our youth here at Red Springs Baptist Church, and below are just a few of the things they are accomplishing.
CONGRATULATIONS TO:
JORDAN McHAM Elected Texas Sunbeam President
HUNTER McNUTT Chosen as Texas Alternate Mr. Sunshine
ANDREW McNEELEY winning a First Place Ribbon for his picture in the State Sunbeam Coloring Contest.
KAYLA COSBY whose softball team recently played in the STATE Playoffs in Van.
MISTY COSBY> was the ONLY girl from Lindale High School chosen for 1st. Team All Stateand was named District 3 A Offensive Player of the Year!! ! ! ! ! Her batting average is 473, she pitched 15 doubles, 3 triples, and 5 home runs!! She is one of the top 20 players in this big STATE WOWWWWW!!! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU MISTY!!
MISTY COSBY and her baseball team from Lindale High School won the first playoff softball game 17-0 in Longview last weekend. Misty hit a home run!!!
JESSICA GLASSCOCK competed in State Twirl and Dance recently and received three 1st place groups, two 2nd place groups, and 3rd in her Lyrical solo!!
JUSTIN GLASSCOCK was nominated as "Best Freshman Guy" band member.!!!
BUCK THOMPSON came in 5 th place out of 30 in the discus throw last weekend in Palestine.
KELSEY THOMPSON won first place in State Dance Competition last weekend in Hawkins.

Brown Scholarship on Sunday
May 21, 2006 at the Red Springs Baptist Church
Graduation Day
celebration. The scholarship was presented on
behalf of the Brown family
by Vickie Brown Allen granddaughter and Kendell
Brown great grandson of
Charlie and Earl Brown. The Scholarship is given
each year to a
Graduating Senior who is a member of Red Springs
Baptist Church and who
has met the criteria set forth by the Brown
family at their annual Brown
Reunion held the third Saturday of September each
year at the Red Springs
Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. The Brown family
have been a part of the
Red Springs community for over a hundred years.
Charlie Brown's parents
Robert and Sallie Brown were members of the
community after the civil war
and have many descendants in the area still
today.
Cymone lives in the community with her mother
Tina Mumphrey. She is
graduating from Winona High School and is
attending TJC. Cymone works at
Wal-Mart in Lindale. She was a member of the
Girls Missionary Auxiliary
and has helped in VBS for several years. She
enjoys visiting with older
people and spent many hours visiting in the
Lindale nursing center.
Cymone, Sarah Irish (graduating from Winona High)
and Sarah Hensley who
recently graduated from TJC were also recognized
by the church. Sarah
Irish will be attending Texas Tech this fall and
Sarah Hensley has
enrolled in North Texas.
The selection committee for the Scholarship
includes Vickie Brown Allen,
Kendell Brown and Claudie Cline Thompson a member
of Red Springs Baptist
Church and a descendant of Robert and Sallie
Brown.

Sunday afternoon March 26, 2006, the Red Springs GMA's and counselors visited with Myrtle McCoy.
GMA President Jessica Glasscock presented 85 year old Myrtle McCoy with a Large Print Bible from the GMA's.

GMA Counselors present were: Billie ambrose, Julie Thompson and Claudie Thompson. Also present was Jackie Glasscock (Jessica's mom). We are so very, very proud of our GMA's.
Several GMA girls traveled to Gary, Texas, Friday for a GMA House Party. Those attending were RayLynn Ambrose, Jessica Glasscock, Kelsey Thompson, & Amber Verschelde. Carol Cline & Claudie Thompson went along for some weekend fun.
Jeremy Glasscock went for his Board of Review with the East Texas Area council for Boy Scouts of America. It took over one hour for this review and he passed, earning his EAGLE RANK, which is THE HIGHEST HONOR IN BOY SCOUTS. He will be receiving his Eagle Project Book back in 2 to 3 weeks and it will be sent to the National Boy Scouts of America to be signed.
Jordan McHam is on the Gym Tyler Twisters Elementary Black Cheer Team and they recently competed winning FIRST PLACE. The team also won the overall top points trophy in their division. We are so proud of these young people.
